Remy: Misses Euro 2012 with a thigh injury

Les Bleus, who will face England, as well as co-hosts Ukraine and Sweden in Group D of the tournament, have already lost Arsenal and Tottenham defenders Bacary Sagna and Younes Kaboul to fitness problems.

Marseille frontman Remy suffered the adductor muscle injury while playing for his club against Auxerre on May 13th but had been included in coach Laurent Blanc's preliminary 26-man squad.

However, the 25-year-old's absence was confirmed after tests revealed he would not make a full recovery in time for the tournament in Poland and Ukraine, despite improvement in his condition.

The French Football Federation (FFF) said on its official website on Friday: "Loic Remy is out of Euro 2012. He hasn't fully recovered from his injury."

Remy took part in seven of France's 10 qualifying matches to help book their place at this summer's tournament.

The striker has 17 caps to his name and has scored four goals for his country.
