The Samurai Blue, who will face Oman, Australia and Jordan in the final round of World Cup qualifiers, comfortably accounted for the 109th-ranked nation in their international friendly courtesy of a well-taken finish from Shinji Kawaga and an Agil Nabiyev own goal.
Kagawa opened the scoring two minutes before the interval, beating a defender and curling the ball past Kamran Agayev.
And on 58 minutes Kagawa played a leading role in Japan’s second goal. The Manchester United target whipped in a cross which Honda headed goalwards, only for Okazaki to scramble it home from close range with the aid of a deflection off Nabiyev.

Hamburg’s Paolo Guerrero scored the only goal of the game as Peru defeated a lacklustre Nigerian side 1-0.
Nigeria fielded a starting XI consisting of locally-based players but Guerrero sent a low strike past Chigozie Agbim on 37 minutes to earn victory for the hosts.
Wednesday’s other friendly saw El Salvador and New Zealand play out a 2-2 draw at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston.
