Turkey won for the first time in more than seven months defeating Georgia 3-1 in Austria on Thursday.
Turkey, who failed to qualify for Euro 2012, were playing the first of five friendlies in the next fortnight and started well thanks to Hamit Altintop’s early goal.
Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin doubled the lead for Abdullah Avci’s side after 39 minutes and they took that two-goal advantage into the break.
David Targamadze breathed life into Georgia when he pulled a goal back six minutes into the second half, taking full advantage of Nikoloz Gelashvili’s assist to create some nervous moments for Turkey.
But they wrapped up the victory eight minutes from time when second-half substitute Selcuk Inan converted from the penalty spot.
