Gael Givet is ready to quit Blackburn unless the club allow him to renegotiate his Ewood Park contract.
Givet: Not happy with pay cut
The 30-year-old's current deal stipulates he takes a 50 per cent pay cut if the club loses their top-flight status.
His agent, Nathou Busi, says the Frenchman would like to stay at Ewood Park but is seeking talks with club officials to discuss his salary.
"Gael's first choice is to stay at Blackburn Rovers but only if the situation can be sorted," Busi told the Lancashire Telegraph.
"We will have discussions with the club because Gael cannot continue in this situation. We hope something can get sorted.
"Gael very much likes Blackburn Rovers. He likes the fans and wants to stay if the contract can get sorted.
"He would want other things sorted at the club as well because no-one knows what is happening. But he would like to stay if he can."
