Serbia defender Milan Bisevac is looking forward to measuring their ability against world and European champions Spain on Saturday.
Bisevac: Ready for Spain test
Sinisa Mihajlovic took over as Serbia's head coach last month and this will be his first match in charge.
Spain are preparing for the defence of their European crown in Poland and Ukraine next month and Paris Saint-Germain defender Bisevac is relishing the challenge of facing the best team in the world.
"Playing the best team will show us where we are in relation to them and what we need to do so again we're part of their level," he said.
"The truth is, it should be noted the presence of very large numbers of young players on this tour.
"The obligation of our elder players is to be around to help them adapt just as the older players helped us when we debuted in the first-team."
CSKA Moscow winger Zoran Tosic, 25, is part of the squad but has already played 39 times for Serbia and is desperate to make his mark against Spain.
"It is clear we have got a great opportunity to promote ourselves and we should feel honoured and proud," he said.
The ex-Manchester United player is also happy with the appointment of Mihajlovic.
"About Sinisa Mihajlovic, I've listened to him a lot since childhood but, after all, it is best to do less talking and more thinking on the field and we are committed to working hard."
Spain coach Vincente Del Bosque is expecting a tough challenge from a respected Serbia squad and likened them to Euro 2012 Group C opponents Croatia.
"They have changed their coach, but they are well-known players, playing at Man City, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, CSKA and are spread throughout Europe," he said.
"The selection is very similar in some respects to Croatia, they are complex and we can expect an open game."
The spotlight will be on Spain in Poland and Ukraine, with Del Bosque's side favourites to retain the title they won four years ago.
However, the coach does not believe expectation is necessarily a negative thing for the squad.
"Before the World Cup and now there has been optimism and that is healthy," he said.
"They are putting us as favourites and we can't hide that. This is the reality but we know there are very strong countries and we have to fight like sportsmen."
Spain's final squad of 23 will not be named until Sunday due to Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao's participation in the Copa del Rey final tonight.
And although Del Bosque has been working with a rather different squad this week to the one that will go to Euro 2012, he still believes the experience has been a fruitful one.
"When you make a squad or a line-up you always hurt someone because you can't play everyone, so imagine how it must feel to not go to the European championships," he said.
"In the training sessions, it has been as if everyone was going to continue. They are a high quality squad and you can only pick 23, but they have to use this feeling as an incentive for the future.
"Some of them had already gone on holiday but have come here and been brilliant, I can't have a single complaint."
