New Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to speak to Joe Cole and Alberto Aquilani before making a decision on their Anfield futures.
Cole: Could yet have a future at Liverpool
Cole spent last season on loan with Lille in France and Aquilani returned to Italy with Milan after failing to settle in England.
Rodgers took over at Anfield on Friday and admitted speaking to two players he has admiration for is one of his priorities.
"They're certainly talented players," Rodgers told the club's official website.
"I know Joe well from my time at Chelsea. He's a wonderful talent.
"The boy Aquilani is a wonderful talent and a terrific player but he might not be able to settle.
"He might not be able to adapt to the country so you've got all those issues and sometimes you're not aware of that until you sit down and speak to the people."
